This Flood Covers the Earth tour help?
Hi. I'm Charlie. I play guitar and scream a lot in This Flood Covers the Earth, a post-hardcore band from San Diego along the lines of Botch, City of Caterpillar, Drive Like Jehu, Funeral Diner, Isis, Swing Kids, Unwound, etc. We have a Myspace account with some songs on it that you can listen to here: www.myspace.com/thisfloodcoverstheearth.

We have a split 12"/CD with fellow San Diegans Lanterns that came out this summer, and we have a new 7" coming out on Dood Records mid-December.

So far we've done a west coast tour, a southwest tour, and a full US tour, and are looking to tour the west coast again this winter... however, we've run into some snags with booking and are looking for any help that anyone could give us. This is our itinerary...

12/29 San Diego CA @ the Che Cafe, w/ Comadre, 400 Blows, Secret Fun Club
12/30 Tijuana MEX @ TBA w/ Comadre, I Am Cataclysm
12/31 Riverside CA @ the Parkview, w/ Comadre, Graf Orlock
01/01 Los Angeles CA @ ??? HELP!
01/02 Ventura / Fresno / Bakersfield CA @ ??? HELP!
01/03 San Francisco CA @ ??? HELP!
01/04 Sacramento CA @ ??? HELP!

01/05 Sonoma CA @ the Shop, w/ Brilliant Red Lights
01/06 Lower Lake CA @ Rebekah's Lodge
01/07 Salem / Eugene OR @ ??? HELP!
01/08 Portland OR @ the Posi Den, w/ Comadre
01/09 Seattle WA @ Camp Nowhere
01/10 Olympia WA @ the Witch House
01/11 Joseph OR @ the Hydrant
01/12 Reno NV @ TBA
01/13 Las Vegas @ ??? HELP!
01/14 Phoenix / Tucson AZ @ ??? HELP!

01/15 San Diego CA @ TBA, w/ Capistrano

If you think you can help us out in any way, shape, or form, we'd really appreciate it. We can be contacted via our Myspace, our email (thisfloodcoverstheearth@gmail.com), or via this medium as well.

Thanks very much for reading.

We're pretty fucked... think you can help?
Hey guys, we're more than a week into tour and still looking for some help...

This is for This Flood Covers the Earth and Lanterns.
Flood = screamy epic post-hardcore, hear them here: myspace
Lanterns = loud indie guitar rock, hear them here: myspace

Basically, we're looking for anything, and I will stress ANYTHING at this point. We have our own PA with us, if you could just give us access to your living room or basement or garage for an evening and invite your friends over and let us pass a hat around and try and sell some shit, that would be amazing. A lot of people have been really great and helped out, but a ton of other people flaked on us and pretty much fucked us while we're a thousand miles from home. Any help at all would be amazing, so if you can, please hit us up.

The Raconteurs!!!
Hey - have you heard of the Raconteurs?

It's a new band w/ Jack White from the White Stripes, and they are AMAZING!!!!

Here's their My Space: http://www.myspace.com/raconteurs

I just saw on their website that they have a presale going on for their new tour dates. You can buy tickets at lower service fees to any of these shows:

7/22 San Francisco - Warfield Theater - Presale starts Monday, June 5th at noon Pacific
9/19 Atlanta - Tabernacle - Presale starts Tuesday, June 6th at noon Eastern
9/20 Orlando - Hard Rock Cafe - Presale starts Tuesday, June 6th at noon Eastern
9/22 Norfolk - NorVa - Presale starts Tuesday, June 6th at noon Eastern
9/26 New York City - Roseland Ballroom - Presale starts Monday, June 5th at noon Eastern
9/28 Providence - Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel - Presale starts Tuesday, June 6th at noon Eastern
9/30 Montreal - Metropolis - Presale starts Tuesday, June 6th at noon Eastern

Click Here for Access to the Raconteurs Presale

Once you get to the Raconteurs presale website, click on the little "Login" link above the tour date listing and enter the following password for access to presale tickets: brokenboy

I'm planning on seeing them in Atlanta and Norfolk - anybody else going to those shows?

Definitely grab presale tickets if you want to see them - most shows are selling out on this tour very quickly. I know a few people who missed their chance to buy tickets for the Portland and Los Angeles shows and now have to go the route of el scalpero.

Just trying to give everyone a heads up so no one's left out in the cold.

We made a record.
Hi there. We're the View From Space. We're from San Diego, CA.

We just made a record called Hands Drawn to Fire As Sailors to Sea. It's four songs in twenty-nine minutes. One of them has a gang vocal.

If Drive Like Jehu, Funeral Diner, Isis, Unwound, Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, and Envy were all cats and got into a fight, they'd sound something like the way we sound.

You can hear some of the songs here: click click click.

We play shows and stuff, and we could talk about them, but mostly this is a fairly typical "omgz guyz our band put out a cheaply made CD-R you should totally come see us play and/or buy one!!!1!" type of post.

So tell us what you think, and if you like it, that's cool. Maybe we'll come through the city you live in one day and you can come see us and tell us in person. Or maybe we already play in the city you live in, so you can do it sooner. Or if you don't like it, you can tell us that we suck and that abortion is a choice that our mothers should have made.

Anyway, thanks for reading... and hopefully listening.

KLEVER LP 2005 "In the name of peace and progress"

http://kleverman.spb.ru/ & klever_spb

You can download!
ftp adress: ftp.radioclassic.ru
username: klever
password: klevermusic

Gloomy, all-instrumental psychedelic indie rock from St. Petersburg. Three out of five tracks are over 10 minutes long, and all have titles like "Trip#1" or "Trip#4" - smart, ain't it? The lineup is about as minimalist as it gets - guitar, drums, and various wind instruments (a bit of synth added at times, too). They produce a truly chiding, tense atmosphere - the new stuff is much darker than the band's self-titled debut EP. The tracks, though generally long, maintain the suspense well and have good energy (though probably not good vibes) -they would be great for some arty, silent thriller perhaps, though they very much stand on their own as they are. The booklet photos of derelict industrial landscapes add quite a lot in the way of atmosphere; the only information provided with regards to the band is "Composed and performed by Klever". "Klever", actually, is also Russian for "clover* - which makes the band all the more clever.

The Juan Maclean's debut album Less Than Human may be the closest that DFA records will get to a mission statement without the unsightly clutter of words. All metallic clatter, moogy squeals and coke-nosed loops, it fuses disco decadence and record-collector erudition without taking sides: raw rhythms garlanded with machine noise.

“Rhythmically joined at the hip with drummer Spam, he plays the north Mississippi hill country hypnotic boogie-groove like nobody else on earth. His music is not a complaint of self-pity, but a celebration of life. He moves you to rejoice with him, not sympathize with some pitiful condition of lost love or injustice.

Not a relic of the past or a remnant of vanishing culture, T-Model Ford and Spam are in the moment like few other blues artists. Out on the edge of the cliff where most fall to the rocks below, T-Model Ford takes off and flies - the existential hero.”

Show on Saturday night! Woohoo!

End on End: Ebullition style hardcore meets From Ashes Rise. Heavy and aggressive with political lyrics. One of the best live bands ever.
Disconnect: Thrashy/indie/hardcore/punk from Reno. You love it.
An Arrow in Flight: DIY as fuck hardcore. Passionate and political.
The View From Space: Crushingly heavy indie/metal/drone. Epic and brutal. Think Funeral Diner/Envy/Isis.
Asshole Assassination Squad: Thrashy youth crew. Similar to DS-13.
Bastard Ass: Power-violence that makes you wonder if we're back in the '80's.

New Song By Blood Ruby!

Blood Ruby - www.bloodruby.com

Blood Ruby creates female-fronted atmospheric alternative music somewhere in the vein of dream pop, ethereal and neoprogressive rock.

Our new song is called Midsummer Fires. It's a tribute to the pagan-based Scandinavian traditions of Midsummer, that, like the bonfire it depicts, slowly builds into a blazing inferno. You can check it out on our LiveJournal page.

To be notified whenever we post a new song, please join our mailing list.
